Perry is Perry is a Chicago native birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. This was staged at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. Her father portrayed her in The ABC show Scandal. The same year her character was cast the younger model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen character of her mom's. The role was given by audition regardless of the fact that she was a cousin with the character.
